Pre-Prom (First photoshoot!)

Yesterday, I went over to the amazing Julianna's house to do a pre-prom photoshoot with her friends. This was my first paid photoshoot! (cue my happy dance)

It was so fun and the hour and a half passed by in a blink.

crunch time

all of our teachers are telling us that it's "crunch time."
precisely what they mean by that is a little unclear to everyone, but we're pretty sure it has something to do with focus, hard work, dedication, and determination. and a lot of late night studying and snacks.

aren't we supposed to do that....all the time? during, you know, life?

there is something troubling about the mentality of a school if "crunch time" is a thing. "crunch time" is a term entirely centered around grades and not learning. i go to school to learn. my classmates? you'd have to ask them.

but I digress.

i will admit, though that this is a very stressful time of year. everything seems to be due; everything ending and everything beginning.

i'm getting through it with a lot of simon and garfunkel, popcorn, and the support of a person who believes in me and tells me everyday. i can only hope that i do the same for him. perhaps i should send him over a bag of virtual kettle corn?

and here's another, of matthew back in the day (8 months ago, actually. can you believe it?). summer, when we had time to ride ferris wheels and walk through bookstores wondrously.....we're almost there.

there's so much going on all the time as the school year starts to wrap up.

i'm moving and everyone is moving and everything is moving around me.

run, jump, skip, sprint. catch the train before it leaves without you, 'cause the next one comes a lifetime later, if you're lucky.

tree people and a moby dick marathon reading

last night the moby dick marathon reading began. it was so, so amazing. the book is quite well written, and the story the perfect kind to be read at night. 

today we planted a tree.

tree people is a great organization and i had a pretty awesome morning.

today i reflected on how lucky i am. 

fifteen and i think i've got this figured out. or not. probably just one of the many delusions caused by love.

oh dear. i'm only fifteen.

sometimes i forget. i feel so old because i'm going to be a junior next year, and then i look at the larger scope of things.

i'm only fifteen. 

but come on....i thought i was all grown up at six and a half and reading the big kid books (a glorious event comparable only to the moment when i first flew through the air sitting on a big kid swing).

4.14.13 LACMA

today matthew and i went to lacma for the stanley kubrick exhibition after a very important interview. (holding my breath for the results) 

during the interview, i was asked "what is the one word you would use to describe yourself?" i chose "honest." that's kind of an unconventional answer, but it was the most honest (hah hah get it? someone please laugh......matthew? please?) answer. 

the museum was pretty epic.

i love the open spaces and dramatic lighting in the exhibition.
